AirAsia Bargain Hunter [Tips]

 Before you start

1. Sign up for a BIG or AirAsia Membership Account:
We have introduced two new features for AirAsia Membership to speed up your booking process:
(a) My Friends and Family List: you can add up to 10 friends and family details into your Friends and Family list. Simply 'check/select' the traveling friends and family names in "Guest Details" page and click "Add Guest", then all the Guest Details will automatically be filled up.

(b) 1-Click card: you can store up to 3 Credit/Charge/Debit cards details that you wish to use for payment. Simply select your preferred card in the Payment Page and insert CVV/CID code to make your payment! Much easier right?

For more details on "My Friend and Family List" and "1-Click Card" features, please check out http://www.airasia.com/my/en/easybooking.page
AirAsia Membership also helps a lot when you encounter payment error. You can always return to 'Manage my booking' -> 'Find My Booking' to complete the payment without having to go through the hassle of rebooking!

Can’t wait to enjoy these features? Join us as BIG or AirAsia Member now @ http://www.airasia.com/my/en/aamember/aamembership.page

2. Make sure you use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox
NO discrimination to other browsers but these two browsers are reported to be the most stable throughout the booking process.

3. Plan your trip in advance
• Prepare a few travel plans. If Plan A doesn't work, at least you'll have back-up plans and you'll save the hassle of planning from scratch again.
• Have all guests' details at hand. i.e: Name, D.O.B, Nationality, passport numbers, etc...
• If your passport is expiring soon / not registered yet, NO worries. Just fill in your current details and update your latest passport details via 'Manage my booking' at no extra cost and at a later time convenient to you.

4. IMPORTANT REMINDER:
You will only have up to 10mins at the Search and Select Flights pages each, linger any longer and you will be redirected back to the 'Waiting Room'.

DO NOT attempt to open Multi-TABs (under the same browser) to search for fares as it may 'confuse' you during the booking process. You may end up with the WRONG travel date.

‘Waiting Room’
You will be directed to the ‘Waiting Room’ if your searches take more time than it normally would. ‘Waiting Room’ will auto refresh every 15 seconds, so please DO NOT refresh the browser. You will be directed to the Booking Page when your turn comes.

‘Busy’ Page
Don’t stress up when you meet this ‘Busy’ page, as our web traffic is really busy. Never give up on your holiday! Our system is up and running, click ‘I would like to try again’ to try again to hunt for our low fares!

During the booking

1. Error Message [Invalid Name]
This happens because you have keyed in names consisting symbols like
@, ', &, - and etc.
Please use only letters (A - Z) when you fill up your First and Last name.

2. Error Message [Invalid Pax Type]
Please make sure the Date of Birth of the passenger is keyed in correctly. Our new system will validate the information for confirmation. Adult seat is applicable to Adults (>2 years old) and Child -> Infant

3. Review and Pay
Before proceeding to your payment, please DOUBLE CHECK and confirm your flight details (flight date/time, flight number, departure/arrival city) and passenger details (name, baggage, meal, Pick A Seat). All the details shown here will be FINAL for your booking once the payment has been made.

During the payment

Here comes the most important part. Please remember the below scenarios to make sure you understand what is your payment status to make sure you grab your low fare successfully!

REMINDER:
1. All Guests are strongly advised to DOUBLE CHECK and CONFIRM their Booking and Flight Details – ie. Departure/Return Date & Time, Flight Number, Checked baggage allowance, Pick A Seat, AirAsia Insure etc, at Review and Pay page, prior to make payment to confirm their booking. Once Booking is confirmed, any changes on the flight are subject to a fee and fare difference.

2. All Guests have to login to AirAsia Member Account in order to retrieve and manage your booking online. If you haven't sign up as our BIG or AirAsia Member, sign up now @ http://www.airasia.com/my/en/aamember/aamembership.page

3. Due to the overwhelming response to our current promotion, it will take us a little longer to send you your itinerary via email. You may also login to ‘Manage My Booking’ to retrieve and check on your booking status. We thank you for your patience.

4. Don’t forget to pre-book Checked Baggage Allowance, Pick A Seat, pre-book Hot meals, AirAsia Insure and SkyBus via 'Manage My Booking' to enjoy up to 50% online discounted rate.

Use mobile as an alternative
Did the ‘Waiting Room’ or ‘Busy’ page appear one too many times? Why not book via your mobile? Log on to mobile.airasia.com via your mobile browser to book with ease.
• It may be slow, too; but keep trying until you get it!
• Credit card is the ONLY payment method.

Phillip Island

Trip to Phillip island was the highlight of this vacation. This is the place where we met cute Koalas, kangaroos and any other animals that we never found before. We booked thru travel agent called Melbourne Australia Tours. They charged us AUD85 (around RM270) per day per adult, and free for our little Haireen. $85 include all entrance fees, and dinner.

1st stop, Maru and Koala Park - Haireen's favorite place

1st time interact with kangaroos..Haireen good in making friends..:P

Father-daughter talk..:p

Sheep shearing

Chasing the bird, maybe she wonder why it cant fly..hmm..

Never see this kind of bull..and we were so excited to snap the picture of it!

Stand-up kangaroos!

Panny's chocolate factory - I still remember the taste of the chocolate, and yeah, its yummy!

Melbourne (CBD)

Trip to Melbourne was just a short & simple vacation. We just spent 3 nights in Melbourne. Flight booked since last year, during Air Asia promotion, while Hotel booked this year with AirasiaGo, 3 months before travel. We were quite lucky to get promo price for this hotel, coz AAGo was having promo 30% off on the time we book.
Australian electronic Visa (ETA) can apply online (AUD20). You may get cheaper if book thru Travel Agency (50% cheaper). Just ring them to ask, and email copy of passport. Few hours later, you may get ETA via email. We applied 2 weeks before traveling date.

Before landing, flight crew will pass this declaration form. Make sure you declare everything u bring, especially foods. Their customs are really strict.
Jasper Hotel Melbourne
Jasper Hotel is located in Melbourne CBD. The location is very strategic, as Victoria Market is just few steps away (Right in front of this hotel).  We arrived there quite early, around 11 am, and they allowed us to do early check-in. Thanks to their helpful receptionist. After check-in, we took a shower, and straight away went to the Market. For those who plan to visit Melbourne, Victoria Market should be in your must-go list. They sell a lot of souvenirs (cheaper than any other shop outside there), fresh fruits, t-shirts (we bought AUD5 each), etc...

Victoria Market

Victoria Market Operation Hours

Flagstaff Garden @ Melbourne CBD
3 minutes walk from the market, you may find a very lovely garden, named "Flagstaff Garden". This garden is the oldest park in Melbourne. And right in front of the garden is the point where people waiting for the tram. It is advantage for tourist in Melbourne, since we can travel around Melbourne city for FREE. Yes, it is free! Just hop on into Tram no. 35 (where they called it as City Circle Tram). The tram will stop in each station every 15 minutes. Other than that, they also offer free shuttle bus for tourist. What I like most about Melbourne is, their road is very huge. Their transportation system is perfect. They even have subway, tram, bus..and reached each station on time... It is nice if Malaysia has transportation system like they do!

Ready for tram

One of Halal restaurant in Melbourne CBD

Halal foods are easier to find. For Malaysian, we may think that the price are very expensive. One plate of nasi Goreng cost about $8.50 (around RM25). Roti canai kosong $2.50 (RM9).  Tips: don't ever convert to RM when u wanna grab some foods. Otherwise, you will be getting shocked, and end up..makan Maggie dekat hotel..:p..

Left: Federation Square and, Right below: Flinders Street Station

City Circle Tram

Since the free tram cover up to Docklands, we hop off there, and had a window shopping in Harbour Town. There is one souvenir shop, called "Souvenirs Direct" in Harbour Town. They have more choices, compare to Victoria Market. But the price are slightly expensive. We bought Koala Key holder for $10 (RM30) and some souvenirs that couldn't find in VM.

Goodbye Melbourne. Make sure u don't forget to fill-up Green form for departure (need to submit this to customs for clarification before leaving Australia).

Tioman Island

This trip has been organized by hubby's family. From foods, accomodation, etc, everything sponsored by father in law. Terima kasih banyak2!!..^^
Trip ke Tioman ni they all plan dlm 3 months before. Last year around December. Dah lama tak buat family trip. Last time when I was pregnant 4 months (trip to Beijing).Seronok jugak bila jalan ramai2 mcm ni. Yang best sbb boleh gilir2 jaga Haireen...;p
We all bertolak dari rumah masing2 seawal 2.30am. (awalnya!!zzzz...) But for me, not much issue, sbb tak drive pun. Hehee..sian hubby. Tapi before that, dia dah make sure he got enough sleep and rest. Bukan dekat nak travel sampai ke Jeti Mersing tu. Tooks about 5 hours jugak. Itu tak termasuk berhenti solat subuh di Kahang (daerah Kluang) + breakfast di Mersing + Jln2 Pantai Air Papan Mersing. Dari jeti Mersing ke Tioman, we all naik ferry Bluewater. It took approximately 2 hours. (In total from KL to Tioman is 7 hours). Dissatisfied with their service, okayy!! Hotel Berjaya yg we all stay tu dekat Tekek (last terminal di Tioman). Ada 1 luggage besar yg they asked us to put on top of the ferry. Ada ke patut beg tu diorang dropped mcm tu je dekat first terminal, padahal we all stop di 3rd terminal. Sampai2 je mmg panik. Cari luggage takde. Dah la susu Haireen, pampers, baju2 we all semua dlm tu. Kalau hilang mmg takde mood la nak bercuti kali ni. Tunggu punya tunggu, more than 2 hours baru dpt luggage balik. Itupun hubby terpaksa pergi balik ke 1st terminal tadi. Alhamdulillah, nothing lost. Haaiihhh..mmg banned la Bluewater ni for the whole life! Kalau teringin nak dtg Tioman lagi, thinking to use Berjaya Air je lah. Sonang. Save my time and energy. Sediakan ongkosnya jelah..:p

Okay, enough my complaint about Bluewater. Kita story pasal our amazing resort pulak. If u all stay di Berjaya, mmg ada provide pickup dari jetty ke hotel. Bus yg open air concept. Sangat best!! Sampai2 jetty je diorang dah standby utk pickup guest. We like their sevice! Dari driver bus sampai ke reception, everyone sooo polite in treating customers.

Dlm ferry Bluewater. Haireen duk ngan Opah.

Dah sampai hotel. During checkin, we have to pay RM200 as deposit. The money will be refunded back once checkout nanti. We booked superior chalets. If u guys see from Berjaya website, rate for this type of room per night is RM420. Isn't it expensive?? yes it is. But we got a good bargain as Berjaya Member rate...Yeahhh!!..^^

Ni la pickup bus tu. Open air concept. Mmg best!

Upon arrival, ada welcome drink. Mango juice. Bestnye minum air sejuk masa cuaca panas2 mcm ni..:)

U may book any tour directly from the hotel (snorkeling, banana boat, etc)

Berjaya Tioman Superior Chalet room

We all occupied 4 rooms. Room no. 388 to 391. All in one building. Plus, this one pula type yg ada connecting room. My room connect dgn bilik parents in law. Senang Haireen nak lari ke sana ke mari...:p

Haireen-in-action (ada gaya model tak..:p)

Paip pun looks classy

Haireen enjoying the view

Crystal clear water. Byk ikan sesat dari Renggis Island which is about 500m from our resort.

I love their beach benches!!

Swimming pool slide.

Isn't it lovely?!

This too!

Renggis Island.  People do snorkeling here..

One..two..cheeseeeee..^^

Ni Golf club.

View at night - Good time to test my Dslr aperture & shutter speed

Dekat luar hotel, boleh ambil tour. Ada 1 local man yg bawak we all round2 Pulau ni. Dia charge RM50 utk 1 van tu. Kalau pergi beramai2 like us, kira worth it la. One of the attraction dekat pulau ni is Tmn Laut, Pulau Tioman. Dekat sini boleh bagi makan ikan2, yang pasti, ikan2 tu cantik sangat! Roti ikan ni can be bought at one of the shop di jetty. RM1 je satu packet tu.

Lovely! Berebut nak makan roti.

Beraninya! I can't imagine how they can swim without life jacket. The sea is quite deep. For me, even wanna snorkel dekat tepi2 pun still I need life jacket, i don't dare to do that..:p

Haireen@ Berjaya Tioman Resort

Pssttt...lupa nak cerita pasal makan. Di Tioman ni, foods are quite pricey. I heard makcik2 jual tu ckp stok mmg very limited. Yelah, its an island. If u stay in Berjaya, there are 2 stalls nearby, just outside at the main entrance. Malay (Halal) and Chinese restaurant. Every night we all makan dekat sini jer. Sbb takde transport,  susah nak bergerak.
